Greetings Friends!
Seems I haven’t written since last year— how can that be?
December and January were filled with many parties and celebrations with great friends and family— I truly have the most wonderful people in my life… I treasure each and every one of them!!

We had some lovely gigs in December; Apple Store at Lincoln Center NYC with Steve Cardenas and Ed Howard, a lovely fund raiser in Hadley MA with Miro Sprague and David Picchi, Birdland with Miro and Ed, and a very fun private party at the beautiful club “54 Below” in Manhattan with my band (Thank you Kent!)
Then onto Hawaii ! One thing I love about that time of year in Hawaii is watching the hump back whales… just awesome creatures. Had a lovely couple of concerts at the Atherton Theatre/ HPR there too with Jim Howard and Bruce Hamada— great crowds too. Always great to be with my family there.
Quick turn around back to NYC for a fun concert with Ted Rosenthal- featuring music of Rodgers and Hammerstein at the “Y” in Riverdale NY.
Then off to LA for the Grammys but first to Santa Barbara to hang with dear friends in that beautiful place, and of course the Grammys was a remarkable honor and experience.
I enjoyed hanging with Motema crew (see pictures on photo gallery) Bill and Michael Leonhart and saw many colleagues and friends there too.
(We had a great time dancing at after party to the Arturo O’Ferrill’s band !)
Back to NYC where Bruce Barth and I played a lovely duo concert/service at All Souls Church in Manhattan, which included the poetry of Emily Dickenson.
Then  I took a week to hang with my dear Mom in Minneapolis—and did a fun masterclass (thanks Lori Dokken!) at McNally-Smith College.
We saw some dear friends of ours in La Crosse— Since I’m a birder we also loved seeing so many beautiful eagles as it’s a major cross roads for them there.
Onto Pioneer Valley for much of March—working on original material I hope to share soon. I also heard many friends play; Carol Smith, James Argiro…Flava Evolution, Miro Sprague… it’s a place blessed with so much talent!
Had a fun gig with Paul Arslanian, George K and Jon for their Northampton Workshop Series— favorite people!
Back to NYC for month of April. I’m looking forward to Greene Space (we’ll be filming that and hope to share with you) and our week at Birdland with my wonderful band;
Rod Fleeman, Miro Sprague, Ed Howard and Adam Cruz— also will do a concert with string quartet and Bill McGlaughlin conducting .. sharing the stage with Jon Faddis and the Julliard Orchestra.
Then to Boston/ Scullers, Old Lyme CT/ Side Door, Pound Ridge CT with pianist Pete Malinverni, and to my alma mater UNO with big band and orchestra.
Chicago/ Green Mill, then to Turkey!
Thanks for reading, listening and for your support of the Music!! I look forward to seeing you out there somewhere.
Warmly, Karrin
