Greetings,
It’s been ‘surreal’ here in NYC … empty streets, but much of the time parks full of people, food shopping is challenging to say the least – although cooking more has been ‘fun’ …

I’m not a recipe person, but guess what? I am an improvisor! Always recycling and composting… very cool we can do that here in the city.

Enjoying Happy Hours with friends on Zoom from time to time—
7PM every eve, is the NYC City Wide Clap for Essential Workers… our street is ON IT!!!
Pilates! My maintenance and sanity !! Along with (almost) daily walking in the Parks…. my friend Susan and I actually walked all the way to Randall’s Island on Easter Sunday… 7 & 1/2 miles— lovely ! The flowering trees have been so beautiful… Finding bathrooms can be a challenge however.

Books I’ve read lately:
Maya Angelou, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings — fantastic.
Where the Crawdads Sing – I like reading books that have nature involved.
It’s OK that your’e not OK – a very good book about grief.
Lies my Teacher Taught Me – my reference!

Forced Spring Cleaning:
Going through CD’s, DVD’s, cassette tapes! what to do with all of this (mostly) good stuff?
Especially now that no one is taking donations, I’ll put to the side, til I can take them. I give to Housing Works here in NYC – they do good work.

Learning more online things… frustrating but inevitable I guess — got a new modem !
Teaching on ZOOM, having fun w students.
Starting a few new original songs… will see if THEY see the light of day!

A new radio podcast/ show with Bill McGlaughlin called the “B&K Cafe” where Bill (host of “Exploring Music with Bill McG and Peabody Award Winning “St Paul Sunday”) and your’s truly  choose music to chat about… from our living room!
